Many of my works are durational in nature, minimal in actions and materials, and are often located in peripheral spaces of larger events. I create works in response to specific sites, engaging with the immediate landscape and materiality of the location, its history, use, or politics. Sites have included a former Cold War missile base in the United States, a 15th century Turkish bath in Macedonia, an aluminum factory in Argentina, an abandoned tuberculosis sanatorium in Poland, and the site of the Spanish landing in the Philippines.

Marilyn Arsem has been creating live events since 1975, ranging from solo performances to large-scale interactive works incorporating installation and performance. She has presented her work at festivals, alternative spaces, galleries, museums, universities and conferences throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North and South America. She is on the faculty of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where she teaches performance art. She is a member of Mobius, Inc., which she founded in 1977. Mobius is an interdisciplinary collaborative of artists who also operate a gallery in Boston.
Website: http://marilynarsem.net

Artist, Performer, curator “Navinki” international independent performance-art festival, 1999-2014 in Minsk Belarus.

“UNITY”
Performance is a quest for one’s path in life, and is the only relevant art‑form capable of reacting adequately to the challenges of the rapidly‑changing world without adjusting itself to anyone’s demands. Performance is art in a process of constant flux. I like its variability, fragility and depth, which are conducive to mutual understanding and the unification of human feelings and emotions. It can take them to a higher level, and allows one to forget one’s own importance, reputation, merits and achievements. In performance, you are entirely responsible for everything you show the audience. Most importantly, you experience it in a common active space. You are in a situation. You see eyes; you hear yourself and others breathing. Performance unifies. Personal experience. What could be more important than us being together, united as a whole? It gives rise to thoughts about the integrity and unity of all that is alive on the planet, for that is how things really are. But are we still united as we leave the hall at the end of the festival? I think so. Belief in divine values gives us that chance. In performance, like in real life, one goes from the dark into the light, and it is a long journey, one as long as life itself.

Reid’s Art education went from a night class to a degree in Fine & Applied Art in Northern Ireland. She entered Performance art by using her images to express an emotion, sense of belonging and examining her own identity before she's even knew what performance art was. Pavana sees her performance as an experience in the relationship between people, place and time. She chooses actions or create situation to demonstrate her idea as an individual. Pavana is now living between Bergen, Norway and Northern Ireland, UK.
http://www.facebook.com/PavanaArt

Son of a forester and a nurse. Molded from two opposite traits. He was a boxer, a sculptor, actor, painter, played drums, founded the first local councils and youth parliaments in Poland and Ukraine, co-organized the first concerts of Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy Foundation, was president of the Academic Sports Club at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, this year he has ceased to be a patriot, a Catholic and an artist.
In addition, he has been discouraged by people, so he has ceased to be a man, he is simply a performative animal immunized by the vaccine of absurd, distance, and enthusiasm.
Sometimes he is unpredictable, but more often he is known as the heart of a dove. His work is a shaky idiom, it exudes a dose of emotions: it entertains, scares, surprises but is never boring. Sometimes he shows an uncompromising respect to himself and the audience - as proven by a collection of documented injuries acquired while performing around the world.
He admits that from the beginning he was sentenced to performance, father being a forester, a miner, extreme rebel, known as artist "painter of gesture." High school of art bore the name of Tadeusz Kantor. He started his studies at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts - in the Mecca of living arts in Poland. Diploma defended at the Faculty of Sculpture in the performance art which was unprecedented in Poland. Currently, he is Ph.D. assistant professor teaching performance art, together with Prof. Artur Tajber in first Performance Art Studio at his alma mater. He lives in the Performers Street...
Subordinated all his life to the art of performance.

World premiere of the new solo performance by Stuart Lynch:

FASHION ZOMBIE

Fashion Zombie is a challenging, provocative and darkly humorous. The work explores the artistic, socio-economic and ecological implications of collective, global, human denial. It is a road trip into an imagination where monologues, dance and the songs of David Bowie argue that our fascination with Vampirism and/or Zombie culture is not a love of horror but suggestive of a collective hypnosis that pacifies and numbs us to the forthcoming ecological crisis. It explores the cognitive dissoncance of world where the free market economy freely pollutes the earth, jails individuals trying to save that earth and a world that spends more money searching for a new habitual planet than would pay to feed the poor of the world 5 times over. Over 60 minutes we meet fanaticism, apathy, psychotic Texan preachers and learn exactly how many Zombie films have been made since 1961. Fashion Zombie is a remarkable and unique solo performance.

“Artist Lynch is a god given choreographer, director and performance. The work is insightful, talented and stays true from beginning to end" S. Zekiros. BYENKALDER Denmark

"Lynch's new performances opens the Dance Festival 'Dans-K' at Kaleidoskop and is a complete hit: exciting, wild and promising.” Janus Kodal POLITIKEN Denmark

Alejandra Herrera Silva (Chile/USA)

As a visual artist and contemporary woman, I engage in explorations to better understand the dynamics of male powers, particularly ones established in “macho” cultures. As a result of those explorations, I seek to better understand the abilities of a woman’s power, or her actions, to overcome pervasive sociological and physical male dominance.

The so-called fragility of the woman’s body is always seen as disadvantageous when pitted against the strength of a mans body and this perception causes both genders to reformulate perspectives on their own physical selves. These changes in physical and social behavior are strictly in response to this altered perspective, and not driven by the simple hormonal differences that exist between us. Other external influences that contribute to this altered perspective are upbringing and education, which both also subscribe to the notion of the “weaker sex”.

Encounters between men and women with these lifelong influences and a constant reaffirmation of the above described perspective, is the locale where my work takes place. These encounters hold a valuable discourse in which the artist’s and audience’s bodies become equally vulnerable, and a different dynamic is exposed.

BIO
Alejandra Beatriz Herrera Silva has been an active organizer, artist and teacher in the field of performance for more than a decade and has exhibited her work extensively all over the world. Originally from Santiago, Chile, she was a founding member of the PerfoPuerto arts organization which was responsible for presenting the works of over 100 regional, national and international artists at varied locations throughout South America. She currently resides in Los Angeles, USA and continues to actively organize exhibits and perform her own solo works.
